MaxCalc is a scientific calculator for Android platforms with touch screen. It is simple to use and has quite powerful features. The most flagrant particularity of MaxCalc is its ability to do calculations at an arbitrary precision chosen by the user. MaxCalc was developed in Java and uses the arbitrary-precision class BigDecimal from Java math package. BigDecimal supplies only arithmetic operations. Scientific functions are custom made exclusively for MaxCalc and optimized for use in hand-held platforms. Buttons are also custom made and adapt to the size of the screen (see Portability Issues below).

More features can be added to MaxCalc on demand. Algorithms or Java code snippets are preferred. Send your requests by email to MaxCalculator at google mail (no complete address here to avoid robots). If arithmetic operations are needed, please use BigDecimal Java class. Features that are not general purpose can be suggested but are not free of charge (in this case the user who suggested the feature will have exclusivity of use but the user is not allowed to commercialize the software). General purpose features can be added for free. The new feature will be integrated in a new version of the software that must be downloaded from Android Market web page.
- Portability Issues

The ideal resolution is 480×840 and screens with different aspects might
generate buttons that are too small. Lower resolutions but with a similar aspect should
not be an issue. This program was developed in a Motorola Milestone. No guarantee
of portability can be anticipated except in the devices listed below. Please notify
bugs and other issues by email.

Attention! The application is reported to be not working in the following platforms for unknown reasons (bug reports have not been sent): HTC G1.
